Setting Routes for Rock Climbing

setting routes for rock climbing is hard because:

  • if you are setting a really hard route that you can’t do and you are shadow climbing it, it might not turn out how you wanted it to
  • if you don’t know what rate it is
  • if you don’t have the pieces that you need

but setting routes is fun it’s fun to set the route then come the next day and see people climbing it when you route set you get to see all the pieces that they use to set routes.

tips for setting routes with tape:

  • go on different holds and tape from them
  • set a route that is too hard for you so that you can project later
  • don’t rate the route
